LOCAL AGENDA TO CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR’S EVE IN CDMX

Eat, make a toast, be part of the Mexican posadas, feel our Christmas spirit, celebrate the end of the decade, and even experience a rare calm that floods our big metropolis. With this agenda, you will live the holidays in the only way we can recommend you: like a true local.

CHRISTMAS EVE DINNER –AND DRINKS- TO BEGIN THE CELEBRATION | December 24th

Hacienda de los Morales

Start the evening with a posada, between piñatas, carols, buñuelos, and ponche. Then be ready for a four-course feast where the star will be a turkey in its juice with mashed sweet potato and French green beans. There will also be vegetarian, vegan, and kids menu. | Polanco neighborhood

El Lago

Mexican classic flavors combine with a spectacular view of the Lago Mayor at Bosque de Chapultepec. In a four-course dinner, our favorite would be the bass fish with pesto made of romeritos. You are going to love it! | Bosque de Chapultepec

Licorería Limantour

If you are looking for a Chrismas-themed bar with the best seasonal drinks, this is for you. Both branches of this liquor boutique turn into pop-up cocktail bars where every sip tastes like Christmas. | Roma & Polanco neighborhoods

AND THE NEXT DAY, A WALK IN THE CITY | December 25th

During the holidays, the city is calm and empty. This day there are no rushes, no noises. So take a walk in Centro Histórico or around Roma, Juárez, or Condesa neighborhoods, you will be surprised to see this quiet side of the city! But, if you are looking for a traditional plan, go to ‘Navidades en México del Ballet Folklórico de Amalia Hernández’, a contemporary ballet that pays homage to our Christmas celebrations: pastorelas, posadas and nacimientos.

¡BYE BYE, 2019! December 31st

Maximo Bistrot Local

Say goodbye to 2019 in one of the best restaurants in the city. During nine courses, you would live an experience of high Mexican cuisine with flavors that you are going to fall in love with Mexico. | Roma neighborhood

Blanco Colima

The place is a big old house with unexpected elements, some baroque, some leafy: a total visual odyssey. And the best is that you can receive the new year under a relaxed vibe, a five-course feast, and superb cocktails. | Roma neighborhood

¡HOLA, 2020! January 1st

Zona Arqueológica de Teotihuacán

How about begin the new year getting the cosmic energy from the magnificent Pirámide del Sol and Pirámide de la Luna? After climbing 238 steps, stay still in the middle of the pyramid and make a wish. The legend says it will come true.
