1. Gastronomy

As soon as you get to the city, your smell and taste will be seduced by all the food in the streets. The quantity and variety is shocking. You will find very traditional flavors in street stalls, markets and fondas, you can try international food in cafes and restaurants, and there are also exclusive places with the best creations of the most renowned chefs.

2. Cultural Agenda

In Mexico City something is always happening. Throughout the year there are concerts, festivals, plays, fairs, art exhibitions and design bazaars. And wait, we have not mentioned that it is the second city with more museums in the world, so definitely, here you will not be bored.

3. Diversity of spaces

The city it is so varied and different from one area to another. Sometimes it seems as if you are visiting different cities or it can give the sensation of being traveling to other times. You can go from feeling in a magical town to being in Coyoacán or downtown Tlalpan, to being surrounded by impressive skyscrapers in Reforma or Santa Fe. Or to get lost in the beautiful nature of Desierto de los Leones or the Bosque de Chapultepec, to feel in the 20th century while touring the palaces of Centro Histórico.

4. Mexican Hospitality

The warmth and charisma of Mexicans is unique in the world. If you need an address or a recommendation, there will always be a Mexican who can help you. And do not be surprised if someone gets to invite you to eat at his house, they will introduce you to his friends and show you the local life in the blink of an eye.

5. Green areas

Something that the locals love about our city, are the green spaces. And they are perfect for many activities: take a walk, exercise, have a picnic and ride a bike. If you visit La Condesa, you can visit Parque España and Parque México, if you are in Polanco, Bosque de Chapultepec is an unforgettable place, as well as being the most extensive green area of the city, it houses museums, fountains, three lakes and a garden botanical. And if you travel south of the city, you will find Espacio Escultórico that is a route of great sculptures made by Mexican artists that are outdoors.

6. Festivities and celebrations

For the same reason that each area looks like a different city, each one has its own celebrations, such as Holy Week in Iztapalapa, New Year in Chinatown and celebrations for saints in certain neighborhoods. In addition, there are national festivities, such as Independence Day celebrated on September 16 and Day of the Dead on November 1 and 2.

Very close to the capital, there are archeological ruins and magical villages that you can visit. An hour away is Teotihuacan, one of the largest pre-Hispanic cities in Mesoamerica. You can also visit Malinalco, where there is an important archaeological site and a former convent decorated with murals. And they are also very close to the city, Valle de Bravo and Tepoztlán, two places declared as Pueblos Mágicos by its history and the magic that enchants to all that visits them.

8. Cosmopolitanism and openness

Mexico City is home to the world. In its streets you will find people of almost all the nationalities of the world and, likewise, you can live your celebrations and gastronomy.

Mexicans like the party, so any day of the week you’ll find a plan to get out. Whether you take a couple of cocktails in a bar in Roma, go dancing to a dive in Polanco, or fall in afterparty until 10am at Condesa, you will enjoy the city at night.
